Peter "TheSidDog" Medina wrote a guide about making machinima in The Sims 3. He mailed and asked me if I could translate it to Dutch, because he desired to have the guide in several other languages as well. So I did. You can now find the Dutch guide on our forums on SimsNetwerk: Sims 3 Machinima Gids door TheSidDog
I also added the guide to our English forum, the original English guide, which you can read here.
It's been possible to make Sims 3 patterns for a little while now. I'm not going to explain that here, not now anyway. I'm not really good at explaining and it's pretty difficult if you don't know what you're doing. There is a tutorial which I will post later.
I've been making patterns before I had The Sims 3, as I already knew how to make them. But of course I couldn't test and upload them. I can now. And I've made a few nice sets with some of my new patterns. I'm showing just one new pattern right now. I will upload this soon, just want to tease you guys so you know what's coming!
And of course I've made more than just one pattern. But I will upload them one at a time!

Update: You can tell me what you think about these sets and download them in this topic!
During the Fan Fest event on May 15 this year, I got the chance to make a house which would be uploaded at the launch of The Sims 3. SimGuruNita uploaded all the creations until the attendees would get the game and upload the items themselves. Which is what I did. I got quite a few downloads (250+) and recommendations (13) on the Victorian Mansion posted by our community manager. But now I'd like to promote my house myself:
As you may know, we also have a separate MySims fansite called MySimsNetwork. There we try to bring you MySims news, articles, goodies like wallpapers and more stuff like that. I made 10 new wallpapers a month ago and I just uploaded 9 more. More will follow soon. You'll also find avatars, sigs, buddy icons, psp wallpapers and iphone wallpapers on the MySims fansite.
Right now we're somewhere in the middle between the worldwide release dates of The Sims 3. Yesterday it was released in the US and various other parts of the world, and shops worldwide are selling the game - in some cases a few days early - already. Large parts of Europe will have to wait until tomorrow or Friday (including the UK) until the official release. Altogether the launch of perhaps EA's biggest PC game of the year is in full swing.
Not all has gone well for EA with the Sims 3, as an almost final version of the game was leaked 2 weeks ago. The final version was also leaked just before the weekend. It has already been downloaded so often that according to some sources it's well in the running for becoming this year's most pirated game. More problems hit EA when the official community website was found to be open as well, which lasted several hours.
Nevertheless EA is probably expecting to cash in now, after a huge marketing campaign. The official site is open, people are playing the game, sharing on the exchange, and more. Besides the release on the PC and Mac, there is also a mobile version for iPhone and iPod Touch. The game will be released in 60 countries, translated to 22 languages. Read on for EA's full press release regarding this big release.
