Tropical Waters Hat Pack

It's a fact, gamers love hats! As a small token of our appreciation for registering The Sims 3 Island Paradise, enjoy these two hats that set a festive tropical mood. You can be the most eye-catching chica or chico on the beach with the towering fruit hat, or be the partay captain with the boat captain's hat!

Visit the download page on The Sims 3 website!

I dig the captain stuff haha. :P

SimGuruCopeland has created a unique lot you can download if you own the new Skylight Studio for the Performing Arts venue that was released yesterday! Take a look below. I don't own the venue yet so I can't preview the lot in my game unfortunately.

So the past few days I posted the sneak peeks that SimGuruTaterTot had shared on the official forums. The Sims Team was working on a new venue! It soon became clear that this venue is all about sports and dancing. And the futuristic (and AWESOME) windows!

I am really looking forward to this venue! I can't afford to buy it myself right now, I'm about 260 SimPoints short LOL, but I will try to buy it as soon as possible and as always I'll show you what it's all about! :D

The set costs 1,900 SimPoints, but it is on a discount for 1,700! The set contains 27 items. This includes the venue itself and two premium items. See the screenshots below:

Did you hear the old joke about the two swans that walk into a dance bar? No? That's ok, it's not very funny. But if you're looking for real entertainment and creative expression, then check out the Skylight Studio for the Performing Arts! The lush, open skylights will let your Sim's star shine bright in the night sky.

Includes 2 premium items:

Stiff as a Board, Light as a Feather Dance Collection

It doesn’t matter if your Sim is practicing to be the most beautiful swan or smustling the night away, the Light as a Feather Ballet Barre and Stiff as a Board Dance Floor has all you need. Warm up and exercise while learning all of your favorite ballet moves from Sims 2. Then take those moves to the enhanced dance floor to perform a ballet dance recital, chicken dance, line dance the smustle or build a friendship while dancing with a partner.

  • Dance like no one is watching on the Stiff as a Board Dance Floor or gracefully get into shape and slim down that waist using the Light as a Feather Ballet Barre!
  • Children are able to begin their dancing early in life and learn ballet moves.
  • Train other Sims and give them the workout of their lives.
  • Earn new Moodlets! Your Sim will have to work hard and exercise to become an Elegant Swan or take it easy and casually work up a sweat to become Glistening.
  • Work on your Dance skill with a classic Ballet routine, fun for all ages Chicken dance, the famous Mascot dance, the everlasting Smustle, and the laid back Club dance.
  • Break the ice and ask to Dance with a Partner to show off your moves.

It's Not Gross Public Shower Station

If you need a quick rinse after you've had a good workout, or after cutting a rug on the dance floor, this is the perfect solution for you. The It's Not Gross Public Shower Station is a quick and easy way to get rid of those stink clouds.

  • You can shower…in public!
  • All the benefits of a private shower are included.

The Skylight Studio for the Performing Arts venue is on a discount until July 6, 2013. The discount price is 1,700 SimPoints. After the discount ends the price will be 1,900 SimPoints.

Store Updates

  • Users who have a large amount of Store content installed will no longer experience their content disappearing from the launcher
  • Store Sets can now be purchased on the Main Menu.

Before installing an Update for The Sims 3, an Expansion Pack, or a Stuff Pack, it is a good idea to run through the following checklist to ensure your game continues to work smoothly.
If you have any questions about the below steps, please visit the Technical Support forum on the official Sims 3 community found at this URL: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/forums/show/10.page

Step 1: Disable Custom Content
Custom Content is all Sims content that did not come from an official The Sims 3 Update, The Sims 3 Store, Expansion Pack, or Stuff Pack. Custom Content is created by 3rd Party Developers that are not regulated by Electronic Arts or The Sims 3 Development Team and may not work with new updates. Custom Content may cause the game to behave unexpectedly or not function entirely.
To disable your custom content, undo whatever you did to install this content to get your game back into an unmodified state. If you placed it in a Sims 3 directory folder, move it to a new folder that is outside your Sims 3 file directory. Your Sims 3 file directory can be found using the paths listed below:
Windows File Directory: C:\Documents and Settings\USER\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3
Mac File Directory: User/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims/
Once you have installed the official update you may re-enable your custom content. If you experience problems, disable it again until the 3rd party developer updates their content to work with the official Update, Expansion Pack, or Stuff Pack.

Step 2: Back Up your Save Files
It’s always a good precaution to back up your save files before installing an Expansion Pack, Update, or Stuff Pack. To do this, copy the “.sims3” folders found in the Saves folder onto your desktop or another file directory.
Your Sims 3 Saves folder can be found using the paths listed below:
Windows File Directory: C:\Documents and Settings\USER\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves
Mac File Directory: User/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims/Saves
After the Update is installed, run the game to verify your saves still function correctly.

Step 3: Let the Update Complete Entirely
Updates can sometimes be rather large and may take a while to download and install completely. Cancelling the update before it has completed may cause unexpected problems, so it is always best to let it finish entirely. Do not close the Launcher until you have confirmed the update is completely installed, as this will cancel the update.
